UPDATES

some neat suff this time!

so i was at the tara jane o'neil show this evening, and saw the whole gang of idatel! i had asked about the ithaca show's write up from our weekend and kevin said i was all over it. so i searched the times on google and came up with this:

(the picture above was apparently the heading and only picture)
"On Aug. 24 (less than a week later!), Idatel headlined another in-store performance at No Radio. They were preceded by someone named Tim, on mini-ukulele and harmonium; Little Yellow Bird, a one-man act with looped guitar, drums and laptop; a guy from New York City named Charlie who played a single guitar instrumental for about 20 minutes; and Nat Baldwin and his band. This last group was the best surprise of the night. Baldwin's band was Charlie on guitar and a trumpet player. Baldwin played a bowed bass violin and sang, unamplified, in a wonderfully sweet tenor. The effect was a lot like Jeff Buckley fronting Sufjan Stevens' band. Idatel played next, and they were as good as ever; but I praise them in this space at least once a month, so instead of talking about their performance I'd just like to thank them for putting this show together. Lately the band has been doing double duty as a booking group all its own, and they've consistently assembled interesting lineups of talented, off-the-radar bands from Buffalo, Rochester and other New York State locales."

that's really good for nat, and idatel.. and essentially that last statement means that tim and i got a good response!

so that was nice.

on sunday, jason anderson played here again. it was fantastic as always. a little more tame, but just as sweaty. i played a kind of set. it was a little sloppy. and about a week or two before that, nat baldwin stopped by rochester and played our apartment. he and will played together. it was fun. nat and will are two genuine guys!

i'm thinking about going towards chicago and kalamazoo. throw in buffalo. potentially make it a week long journey by way of ohio and indiana?

if you know people on these places, let me know, or let them know i'm looking for some help.

as for now all i've got lined up for shows is on this friday:
