does anyone read this?
so, somethings i've been working on/doing while i should be finshing registration for what should be my final year of college (but will not be); or getting an oil change, inspection and fixing the locks on my car doors:
i just got back from my second august trip to new york city. this one was real awesome. brooklyn is so much cooler than manhattan. light years cooler. i saw the yeah yeah yeahs and sonic youth! of course sonic youth blew the yyy out of the water, but to be fair they were good too. karen o just looks so doofy in all those weird ass costumes. i was also dissapointed that some of the sweet riffs the guitar player was supposed to play, were played on some recording and were not really live at all. but then sonic youth came on. 100%, teenage riot and tons of other awesome songs they probably don't play on regular basis were in fact played for us. awesome color opened. they were odd and kind of mediocre. we ate tons of awesome food and drank tons of mimosas in the morning! there was a "nice" bar we called "blue" because of it's blue walls. $2 PBR!!! we got pretty sloppy there the second night i was down there. we found a nice CHEAP thirft store. i won't tell you the name so they can find out how awesome they are and raise the prices. the train i took home was actually ON TIME! incredibly so! i was without headphones so i read a whole lot. i learned that the guy who did the sound track for donnie darko is putting out a solo album. that could be way cool. i also read most of chuck closterman's sex drugs and cocoa puffs. good read.
my friend dan came home and i stopped over to see him after his long stint teaching photo at a summer cap. it was good to see him.
the weekend is just about complete:
ithaca - august 24th
troy - august 25th
portsmouth - august 26th
rochester - august 27th
all i have to do is get the venue settled for rochester. a hard task at this point, which is usually a real easy thing to do for me.
there promises to be some really great shows coming rochester's way in the ending months of 2006. wow. 2006 has flown by.
alright, well maybe i should be working on all sorts of things that are important. like making sure i finish college in some timely manner. and making sure i don't have to pay some kind of wicked fee because my car is out of date. or more recording.
